Post doc in DNA nanodevices

The Center for Advanced Biomaterials for Healthcare at CRIB (CABHC@CRIB; Naples, Italy) uses cutting-edge technologies to engineer biologically inspired materials for applications in the diagnostic and biomedical fields.

A post-doctoral position is available to support the research activities carried out on the development of nanoscale molecular structures and systems based on DNA for new diagnostic tools.

The research activity is part of “eHealthNet – Ecosistema software per la sanità elettronica PON03_PE_00128_1/11- CUP B64C1200058005-” project granted by Miur and included in 4D platform at CABHC@CRIB in Naples.

The successful candidate will work at IIT@CRIB’s laboratory on the development of nucleic acid supramolecular structures for new diagnostic devices capable of capturing and revealing analytes with relevance for the clinical as well as the agroindustrial sectors. The successful candidate will be involved in a challenging project and will be asked to realize hybrid systems through the combination of single strand DNA/RNA and aptamers with both organic and inorganic materials. The successful candidate has high-quality expertise in DNA synthesis and assembly, DNA complexes characterization, , DNA morphological and topological investigation, fluorescence-based tools for assembly and target binding or reporting investigation.

We seek a highly motivated and creative scientist, who enjoys an interdisciplinary, open and collaborative environment.

Prospectives candidates have a strong background in any of the following areas: genomics, gene expression, DNA synthesis, DNA secondary structures, supramolecular chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, experimental design and data analysis autonomously

The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry , Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Science, Physics, Materials or Biomedical Engineering or a related field, althoughcandidates with different scientific backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Application is now open for a post-doctoral research position in computational and macromolecule interactions. The research activity is part of "BERSAGLI – Bersagli, sonde e segnali in terapia diagnostica - POR Campania FESR 2007/2013 O.O. 2.1 - CUP B25C13000310007- ID SMILE 022" project granted by Regione Campania and included in TENS platform at CABHC@CRIB in Naples.

The successful candidate will be working in the laboratory of IIT@CRIB on the computational aspect of macromolecules interactions with close connection with biophysical methods such as NMR and/or SAXS. He/she will be involved in a challenging project and will develop new approaches to combine experimental methods with advanced molecular dynamics sampling methods (free energy calculations) in the context of macromolecules interactions to better understand the thermodynamic of polymers and polymer mixtures.

He/she will develop advanced acquisitions and analysis techniques for gradient diffusion approaches, for which in-depth knowledgeof the thermodynamic of polymer is required.

The successful candidate is a highly motivated researcher with a desire to begin an independent career based on the above identified subjects.
