The Center for Advanced Biomaterials for Healthcare at CRIB (CABHC@CRIB; Naples, Italy) uses cutting-edge technologies to engineer biologically inspired materials for applications in the diagnostic and biomedical fields.
A post-doctoral research position is available to support the research activities carried out on the development of nanoscale molecular structures and systems based on DNA for new diagnostic tools.
The research activity is part of “eHealthNet – Ecosistema software per la sanità elettronica PON03_PE_00128_1/11- CUP B64C1200058005-” project granted by Miur and included in 4D platform at CABHC@CRIB in Naples.
The successful candidate will work at IIT@CRIB’s laboratory on the development of nucleic acid supramolecular structures for new diagnostic devices capable of capturing and revealing analytes with relevance for the clinical as well as the agro-industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will be involved in a challenging project and will be asked to realize hybrid systems through the combination of single strand DNA/RNA and aptamers with both organic and inorganic materials. The successful candidate has high-quality expertise in DNA synthesis and assembly, DNA complexes/assembly design and characterization, DNA morphological and topological investigation, fluorescence-based tools for assembly and target binding or reporting investigation.
We seek a highly motivated and creative scientist, who enjoys an interdisciplinary, open and collaborative environment. Candidates should have a strong background in any of the following areas: DNA synthesis, DNA secondary structures, supramolecular chemistry, analytical chemistry, experimental design and data analysis autonomously.
The ideal candidate will present and discuss scientific findings in meetings. He/she will have the opportunity to collaborate within our research program and laboratory, which is interdisciplinary as it bridges materials science with biomedical research.
The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Science, Biotechnology, Biology, Medicine or related fields, although candidates with different scientific backgrounds are also encouraged to apply
